LOTD
Yesterday I went to the local park with my boyfriend, and we took some cute pictures. I wore a cranberry sweater and tied my makeup look to compliment it (not match it).
And before the next photo, let me fill you in. I tried to do those super huge anime buns ( I really wanted to do something different), and they looked good but very bizarre. They were just too over the top for the outfit, day, and occasion.
Cute, but I felt like Maleficent.
Here is what I transformed that teased mess into:
The products I used are:
Maybelline Pure Makeup Classic Ivory Light 2
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer samplie in NW20 (using a damp concealer brush)
Jane Eye Zing in 02 Dazzle
NYX Eyeshadow Trio in Nude/Taupe/Dark Brown (I used Nude and Dark Brown)
Origins Halo Effect Illuminator
Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Rockstar and Zero
L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara
Maybelline The Falsies blackest black
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Labels:
Jane,
Loreal,
LOTW,
MAC,
Maybelline,
NYX,
Origins,

A Few Looks from Last Week
I used the Wet n Wild Palette in Vanity for these. I've really really been enjoying it for multiple looks.
For this look, I actually took the pictures after nine hours of wear so sadly, it's not nearly as pretty as when it was first applied for this look I used:
- Maybelline Mineral Power Powder Foundation in Light 2 Classic Ivory
- Stila Smudge Pot in Violet
- MAC E/S in Beautiful Iris
- MAC E/S in Electra
- MAC Pro Longwear Concealer sample in NW20
- Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in zero
- Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black
- Maybelline The Falsies in blackest black
- NYX e/s in Morocco
- Almay Blendable Eye Pencil in navy(?)
Labels:
Almay,
Loreal,
LOTW,
MAC,
Maybelline,
NYX,
Stila,
Urban Decay,
Wet n Wild
MAC Loot
I was going to do a full out haul on this with pictures and all about two weeks ago. But time has passed and I have a few minutes now. Secondly, most everyone could find images of or has already seen these products. Nevertheless, keep an eye out for these products in tutorials and the like:
- MAC Single Eyeshadow in Woodwinked
- MAC Single Eyeshadow in Beautiful Iris
- MAC Single Eyeshadow in Electra
- MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus
- a sample of MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20
I love, love, love the eyeshadows. I reach for Beautiful Iris all the time. Also, a while back I was on the hunt for the perfect silver eyeshadow, and Electra is IT. Should I do a comparison post between it and my other silvers? (Tell me in the comments). However, I was slightly disappointed because the one I swatched in the store was more of a steel blue gray yet mine has no hint of blue in any light whatsoever :( . But it's still the perfect silver. Woodwinked is gorgeous too, but I'll get more use out of it later on in the season. I've been feeling cool colors.
As for the MSFN, I'm really not impressed; I don't know why I haven't returned it. I see absolutely no difference when I put it on than any other cheap powder I've ever used. I've used it everyday too, so I would have noticed if it did. As for the concealer, I thought I didn't like it very much because it has a thicker consistency and I found it hard to blend until I made a discovery. I cleaned my concealer brush with a baby wipe on impulse to have a clean brush and then dipped it in the concealer like I usually do. Yet upon application, the moist brush turned this concealer into a wonder product for me. It looked so flawless applied with a moist brush! Who would have thought...Anyway, I guess I didn't tell you anything you didn't already know about MAC (great eyeshadows- orginal discovery, Melissa) :)

Book Chat: The Prophecy of Sisters
So do you see what I meant by my list of "intended" posts? I think I jinxed myself by posting that, because this week has been one of the worst school weeks ever. Overload. I've just felt really defeated and haven't been getting more than a few hours of sleep each night. (Alright the pity party's over now. Sorry guys.)
This post may be the first of several over the future of this blog. I absolutely love to read. I'll devour any book you place in front of me. I just have an insatiable hunger for story. I share makeup and creative things, so does anyone mind if I share when I read a really good book (or see a really good movie/show or hear a really good artist)? I hope not.
The book in reference is called The Prophecy of Sisters.
Here's the summary from http://www.hachettebookgroup.com:

The book in reference is called The Prophecy of Sisters.
Here's the summary from http://www.hachettebookgroup.com:
"An ancient prophecy divides two sisters.
One good. One evil.Only one will prevail...
Twin sisters Lia and Alice Milthorpe have just become orphans. They have also become fierce enemies. As they discover their roles in a prophecy that has turned generations of sisters against each other, the girls find themselves entangled in an age-old battle that could have consequences of biblical proportions."
When I first read about this book, I thought "typical, boring, pathetic", but I was wrong. While this novel's characters and setting do heavily resemble those in Libba Bray's Gemma Doyle Trilogy (A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, and The Sweet Far Thing), the story and plot is unique to any others I have read (and fantasy/historical fiction is my favorite genre). Fans of Libba Bray will enjoy this greatly. After finishing the A Sweet Far Thing, I still wanted to read more of her writing. Michelle Zink, author of P.o.S., offers a good option. So check it out.
